Engine Calibration Software Improves Fuel Economy on Ford Transit

Derive, a company that customizes the software of a fleet vehicle’s engine to save fuel, eliminate speeding and reduce emissions, has announced that its engine calibration software now works with the 2015 Ford Transit 3.7L and 3.5L.

The Derive system is designed to allow commercial fleets, using the top-selling Ford Transit full-size van, to maximize savings and safety.

“Businesses select the Ford Transit because their fleets require a highly customizable vehicle,” said Tom Kanewske, Senior Director of Business Development at Derive. “Derive addresses the most significant portion of this customization challenge by delivering a focused engine solution that directly lowers bottom-line maintenance and fuel costs.”

Derive’s software solution for the Ford Transit includes:

  • A top-speed limiter to deliver safety, eliminate speeding tickets and lower insurance costs.
  • Reducing idle RPM by up to 30% to save on fuel and significantly improve mpg.

Derive offers engine software solutions for Ford, Lincoln, Chevrolet, GM, Chrysler, Nissan, Toyota, Paccar, Mercedes, Caterpillar, Cummins and Detroit Diesel, with additional vehicle coverage coming this year.
