New Dash Cam from Car and Driver Magazine
Publishing is fusing with telematics as Summit CE Group is partnering with Hearst Brand Development to launch a new line of Car and Driver-branded dash cams.
The result will provide “eyewitness recording of everything that occurs on the road and features crisp 1080p recording, loop recording, accident/motion detection, auto on/off, parking mode, night vision to Wide Dynamic Range, GPS logger, lane departure warning, speed alerts, WiFi, 3G and Android-powered touch screen models.”
Even better, all models are plug and play and hardwire installation is not required.
“The Car and Driver Dash Cams allow drivers to hit the road with confidence, knowing that every mile and minute will be recorded in HD video,” said Glen Ellen Brown, Vice President, Hearst Brand Development.
Here’s the thing: The National Safety Council reports that from January to June 2015, there were nearly 2.3 million “serious injuries,” a 30-percent jump when compared to 2014.
The benefit is that dash cam video footage has the potential to quickly and decisively settle disputes and are widely used by police departments.
