Parking Reservation Platform for 3rd-Party Services, Including Fleets, Launched
SpotHero, a leading parking reservation service with an extensive network of connected garages, lots, and valets, has launched the SpotHero Parking Developer Platform to provide parking reservation functionality to websites, apps and cars with connected or autonomous capabilities.
The service enables drivers to reserve affordable off-street parking nationwide via its website and mobile app. With the SpotHero Parking Developer Platform, partner businesses, including fleets, will be able to offer similar parking reservation functionality directly in their own applications so drivers can easily secure parking using their interface of choice.
“SpotHero has the biggest network of parking facilities in the United States that accept online reservations, so we’re excited to make reservation functionality on our platform available to 3rd party apps,” said Anthony Broad-Crawford, Chief Product Officer, SpotHero. “Giving drivers the ability to reserve parking through their interface of choice — whether that’s on our app or another service — will help making driving even easier for more people, and that’s what we’re about.”
The SpotHero Parking Developer Platform includes three tools: an API, SDK and Web Widget. With select beta partners, SpotHero’s platform is already on track to process tens of thousands of reservations in 2017.
Since launching in 2011, SpotHero has helped park over 5 million cars and anticipates parking over 10 million by the end of 2017. Whether commuting or traveling, drivers can find convenient, affordable SpotHero parking options near work, airports, downtown attractions and major venues.
Based in Chicago, SpotHero is led by founders Mark Lawrence and Larry Kiss. The company has parked over 5 million cars and has raised $27 million in VC funding.
