HART to Demo Electric Bus in Downtown Tampa
The Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority (HART) will be demonstrating electric battery-powered bus with Proterra, Inc., and Hillsborough County to highlight what it calls “the cleaner, more fuel-efficient and environmentally-friendly transit option for Tampa.”
“Creating opportunities for people to step inside of a Proterra Catalyst 40-foot zero-emission transit vehicle, ask questions and see the technology first-hand is a vital component of increasing environmentally-friendly transit options,” said HART Interim CEO, Jeff Seward. “These and other alternative fuel buses have the ability to transform public transit while helping Hillsborough County communities reduce their carbon footprint.”
The electric, battery-powered bus demonstration will take place on Wednesday, in Downtown Tampa from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. The event will feature a walk-through of the electric bus. Members of the Media and individuals in attendance will have the opportunity to participate in a test ride of the electric vehicle at 1 p.m.
