Telogis Initiative Simplifies Federal Compliance with Electronic Logging Devices (ELD)

In response to the new Electronic Logging Devices mandate issued by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Telogis has announced Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) Made Simple.  In short, it is a convenient way for fleets to more easily meet requirements for new mandatory electronic driver logs (e-logs).

Here’s how it works: Telogis Compliance software connects customers’ vehicles, logs, equipment and people, and automates processes that once required pens and clipboards – or worse, proprietary hardware with closed software environments. The Telogis Compliance solution ensures the accuracy of government-regulated time behind the wheel (Hours of Service), replacing paper logs with e-logs and digitizing mandated vehicle inspections while enhancing safety and compliance.
Most importantly, when used in conjunction with Telogis Navigation it helps maximize truck driver hours and hourly limits and takes traffic and other delays into account. This provides drivers with less downtime on the road and specialized truck-specific directions that keep drivers safer and more well-informed, ultimately improving the driver experience.

“The new ELD mandate is being met with a lot of uncertainty and confusion, which is why we launched the ELD Made Simple initiative,” said Kelly Frey, vice president of product marketing at Telogis. “We are delivering on a promise to enable a better experience for drivers and the businesses they work for. With ELD Made Simple, we are anticipating and solving the pain points of ELDs and hours of service adoption through the Telogis Compliance and Telogis Navigation apps, leading the way for every truck fleet.”

Telogis is making the adoption of the ELD mandate and compliance simple with connectivity, applications and consulting aimed at improving safety, efficiency and productivity. Telogis connected vehicle apps represent a mobile extension of its cloud-based software platform that includes a suite of applications that enable companies with fleet vehicles, equipment and people who work outside the four walls to stay connected to the company while identifying areas where gains in efficiency and cost-savings can be made.

Telogis has partnered with some of the world’s largest vehicle and equipment manufacturers – including Ford, General Motors, Hino, Mack, Volvo, Isuzu and Manitowoc Cranes – to connect vehicles, equipment and the people who use them for work by building its software applications in at the factory – providing the easiest path to compliance and other connected intelligence solutions.
